German Pancakes: Easy and Scrumptious!

This recipe is one that the whole fam LOVES! Whenever we woke up smelling this we all knew it would be a beautiful day. Confession: I have eaten a whole pan of these on my own....you've been warned!

Ingredients: Flour, Milk, Eggs, Butter, Vanilla

Melt the butter in the oven.

Throw everything else in the bowl.

Whisk till there are no lumps. It will get a little foamy.

Pour in the Milk, Egg, and Flour mixture being careful not to stir the butter in.

Bake until batter is set and only butter remains on top. I loved watching it 'grow' in the oven growing up.

Ingredients:

1 c. Milk
1 c. Flour
6 Eggs
6 tbs. Butter
Splash of Vanilla

Serves 4-6 (or one....)

Directions:

Turn oven on to 450 degrees.
Cut butter into small cubes and space out on a 9x13 pan.
Mix milk, flour, eggs and vanilla till there are no lumps.
When oven is heated place the 9x13 pan in the oven for a couple minutes to melt the butter. (Be careful not to scorch it.) once butter is melted pour in the batter. DO NOT MIX! Place in oven for about 20 minutes. The batter should rise up on the sides and be a dark brown on the sides. The middle should be a little puffy with no raw batter.
Serve with jam, syrup, powdered sugar, or whatever else you want. I even like them plain. Enjoy in the puffy goodness.

Enjoy with whatever toppings you want. We like to treat them like normal pancakes.  This one has raspberry jam and powdered sugar. My husband went to Finland on an LDS mission and apparently they eat this for dessert all the time. We like it for breakfast.
